1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Wallspik handles information when you browse the site, use an account, submit content or contact us. The information handled depends on the features you use, your settings and the services configured for the site.
2. Information we handle
Account and profile information
If you create an account, we handle your name, email address, account credentials and email-verification status. Passwords for email-and-password accounts are stored as bcrypt hashes, not as plain-text passwords. You may also provide profile details such as an avatar, username, biography, country, website or social links. If you request editor access, the request and any message you provide may be stored with your account.
When you use account features, we may store your wallpaper likes, saved wallpapers, ratings, download history, saved or liked posts, and followed creators. Selected profile details may be shown publicly on contributor pages if you provide them for that purpose.
Information from sign-in providers
If Google sign-in is enabled and you choose it, Google may provide basic profile information such as your name, email address and profile image for authentication. Wallspik does not receive your Google password through this sign-in flow.
Contact messages
If you use the Contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject and message you submit. The service also records the request IP address and browser user-agent with the message for administration and abuse prevention. Messages are stored for review in the site's contact inbox. If email delivery is configured, a notification containing the message may also be sent to the site's configured contact recipient.
Technical and usage information
Our servers and service providers may process technical request information, such as IP address and browser details, to deliver the site, apply rate limits, troubleshoot issues and protect against abuse. Wallpaper views and downloads are counted for the relevant wallpaper. If you are signed in, a download may also be added to your account's download history.
3. How we use information

- To meet legal obligations and handle rights or safety concerns
4. Analytics and advertising choices
Analytics and advertising are optional. They are off unless you choose to allow the relevant category in the consent controls. When configured and allowed, Google Analytics may receive page-view information, including page title, URL and path; it may also receive events such as a wallpaper download. When configured and allowed, Google AdSense may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver, personalize or measure advertising under Google's terms and settings. The providers determine some of their own collection and retention practices.
You can reject optional categories or change your choice using the cookie-preference controls on Wallspik. Changing consent prevents optional scripts from being newly enabled without consent; it may not erase information a provider already received. 5. Cookies and browser storage
When you sign in, authentication cookies are used to maintain your session; the configured session duration is up to 24 hours. Browser local storage may hold your consent choice for 180 days, as well as local interface preferences or cached values such as theme, layout choice, recent searches and profile images. These browser-storage values are kept on your device. Optional analytics or advertising storage is used only when the corresponding category is allowed and the service is configured.
6. Service providers
Depending on the site's configuration, information may be processed by providers that support authentication (including Google sign-in), database hosting, image storage and delivery, email delivery, caching or rate limiting, analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising (Google AdSense). These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices. We do not control their independent practices.
7. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, administer accounts and messages, protect the site, meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Retention periods vary by information type and provider. Temporary verification and password-reset records have expiry periods in the service. Backups, security records or information that must be retained may remain for a different period.
8. Security
Passwords for email-and-password accounts are hashed using bcrypt. We also use technical safeguards such as encrypted connections and rate limiting to help protect the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction or deletion of certain personal information, to receive a copy, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. These rights are subject to applicable limits and exceptions.
To make a request, use the Contact page and select the general or other inquiry option. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and will respond according to applicable law. Wallspik does not currently provide an instant self-service account deletion feature. You can also change optional analytics and marketing consent through the cookie-preference controls.
10. Children
Wallspik is not designed specifically for children. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information in a way prohibited by applicable law. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information can contact us through the Contact page.
11. International processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, applicable safeguards for international transfers depend on the provider and the laws that apply.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices, services or legal requirements change. The latest revision date will appear on this page. We will provide notice of material changes where required by law.
