About cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Wallspik also uses browser local storage, which is separate from cookies, to remember consent and some interface preferences. This policy explains the storage used by Wallspik and how you can manage it.
Storage used by Wallspik
- Sign-in and security cookies — when you sign in, NextAuth uses cookies for your session and authentication flow, including security checks. Cookie names can vary between local development and secure production connections. The configured session lifetime is up to 24 hours and can be refreshed while you use your account.
- Language preference — when you choose a language, Wallspik may store the NEXT_LOCALE cookie so it can remember that choice. The language switcher sets this cookie for up to one year.
- Consent choices — the choice between accepting, rejecting or customizing optional services is stored in browser local storage under the key wallspik_cookie_consent_v1 for 180 days. This record is not a cookie.
- Interface preferences — local storage may also remember your theme, selected wallpaper display mode, recent searches, or guest likes. These values stay in your browser until they are changed or cleared.
Optional analytics
If Google Analytics is configured, its script is loaded only after you enable analytics in the consent controls. It may receive page-view information such as the page address and title, together with information collected by Google through its service. Analytics is not loaded on admin pages.
Optional advertising
If Google AdSense is configured, its script is loaded only after you enable marketing in the consent controls. Google and related advertising services may use their own cookies or similar technologies to deliver or measure ads. Their storage names and lifetimes are set by those providers and can change.
How to manage your choices
Use the Manage cookie preferences button on this page to reopen the settings. You can accept all optional services, reject them, or choose analytics and marketing separately. Essential sign-in and security cookies are not controlled by these optional settings. You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings; doing so may sign you out, reset preferences or cause the consent banner to appear again.
Simply browsing Wallspik does not save a choice for optional analytics or marketing. Your saved choice expires after 180 days, and you can change it sooner using the settings button.
Third-party services
When you use Google sign-in, analytics or advertising, information may be handled by Google under its own privacy and cookie policies. Third-party cookie names and lifetimes may depend on the service, your settings and your browser. Wallspik's image storage and delivery service is not itself described as a cookie.
Read Google's information about cookies for more details.
